PALM BEACH — Palm Beach Police and the officer of the Palm Beach County Sheriff have called off the manhunt for two alleged murderers who crashed a car on the island Tuesday morning and fled.

Authorities now believe the two men, including one who may have gotten hurt in the crash, left the island quickly after the crash.

Cops have now broken down their check points and ended their yard-to-yard search on the multi-million dollar beachfront properties.

“We wanted to err on the side of caution,” said PB Police Capt. Jeff Trylch. “At one point, we had 25 officers with our department and 20 with the sheriff’s office working this.”

On Monday afternoon, Miami Police found the body of a man who’d been shot in his house on the city’s upper east side.

The victim was identified as punk rock guitarist Louis Salgar, 28, the lead instrumentalist of the local band Secret Arms.

Police said two suspects stole Salgar’s Honda Accord and drove north.

A security guard at The Breaker Palm Beach found the car about 5 a.m. after it crashed in bushes, sparking the massive show of police presence.
