WEST PALM BEACH — A building smack dab in the middle of Clematis Street owned by a company tied to a Palm Beach billionaire who’s been on a land-buying spree in and around West Palm Beach has been slapped with three major code violations, Gossip Extra has learned.
A notice posted on 313 Clematis St. in West Palm Beach accuses the company linked to Jeff Greene, which paid $2.2 million for the building in March, of violating codes ordinances that mandate building to be: watertight, weatherproof, rodent- and insect proof, properly maintained and “in good repair;” and protected from weather with paint.
A hearing before a city magistrate to discuss how parts of the facade over WPB’s showcase commercial street are falling apart was scheduled for Wednesday but has now been postponed.
If the building is not fixed within 60 days, former U.S. Senate candidate Greene’s company, 313 Clematis LLC, could face fines of up to $1,000-a-day per violation.
Stuart Grossman, Greene’s lawyer and the registered agent of 313 Clematis LLC, said Greene’s company has been working with the city to straighten it all out.
“313 Clematis LLC has been made aware of the violations, and it is working with its tenant and the City to ensure that the violations are rectified,” Grossman said. “The violations should be cleared within the next two to three weeks.”
The building boasts nearly 15,000-square-feet of space was recently occupied by a tenant, a nightclub.
