Hilary Swank plays a classical pianist diagnosed with ALS in the first trailer for You’re Not You.

When Swank’s character Kate needs a caregiver, she hires Bec, an aimless college student played by Emmy Rossum .

The drama also stars Josh Duhamel, Marcia Gay Harden, Jason Ritter, Ali Larter, and Loretta Devina.

You’re Not You is slated to hit theaters on October 10.

Swank, Rossum, and Duhamel were among the many celebrities — including Matt Damon , Robert Pattinson , and Jennifer Aniston – who took the Ice Bucket Challenge, which has raised nearly $100 million since July 29.
