PALM BEACH — Palm Beacher Robert Paltrow, Iron Man actress Gwyneth Paltrow‘s favorite uncle, is facing three years in prison and a $250,000-fine after pleading guilty to two counts of criminal tax evasion!

It’s yet another Gossip Extra exclusive: Vintage car racer Paltrow, brother of Gwyneth’s deceased dad, director Bruce Paltrow, was accused of lying on income tax returns in 2007 and 2008.

Robert Paltrow admitted to underpaying his taxes on both years by a total of just under $500,000!

Robert claimed to have made $101,401 in 2007, and paid $45,114 in income taxes.

But in a federal court filing in Pennsylvania, where Robert’s direct mailing business is based, the IRS said Paltrow really made $3.1 million and shoulda paid $481,623 in taxes.

According to the criminal complaint obtained by Gossip Extra, Paltrow claimed he made $94,137 in 2008, and paid the IRS $44,926.

In essence, federal prosecutors say, he made $1.8 million. His share to the treasury should have been $317,346.

In Palm Beach, residents say Robert Paltrow usually hosts Gwyneth, her family and her mother, Meet The Parents actress Blythe Danner, at least once a year.

Robert, 72, is also known for his appreciation of much younger women and his flamboyant, expensive lifestyle.

He is particularly close to another Palm Beacher in trouble, investor Gerard Haryman . Haryman is a fellow Mar-a-Lago Club member who pleaded guilty to fraud. Haryman is scheduled to be sentenced early next year.

Paltrow’s sentencing was scheduled for next week but was postponed until Jan. 8. His lawyer is expected to beg the judge for probation.

Neither Robert, who often races cars in Europe, nor Gwyneth’s publicist returned calls for comment.
