MIAMI — Suspended New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez was mingling with the pretty people at a Miami society function last night as his team and retiring teammate Derek Jeter were getting schooled by archrivals Boston Red Sox!
Rodriguez showed up for the yearly black tie gala of Alfalit International, a literacy non-profit active in 24 countries, at the Intercontinental Miami.
The 39-year-old Rodriguez, who’s at the tail end of a suspension for suspected use of performance enhancing drugs, arrived at the wingding solo but quickly joined Dancing With The Stars champ Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Seinfeld actor John O’Hurley.
Other local celebs showed up, by the way. Nightclub owner Romain Zago, husband of The Real Housewives of Miami star Joanna Krupa, hung out with former castmember Karent Sierra while former Catholic priest Father Alberto Cutie hung out with the woman who made him into an Episcopalian padre, his wife Buni.
Rodriguez was asked about the Yankees losing 10-4 in Boston, Rodriguez made it obvious he didn’t want to chat, or even have his picture taken. Until Alfalit officials convinced him to let shutterbugs do their job!
Who else was there?
