The three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars of Roush Fenway Racing will all be dressed in pink paint schemes for the Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville Speedway.
Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will all be bringing awareness to Breast Cancer Foundation and its early detection plan.
Carl Edwards is the lone driver of RFR who remains eligible to win the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
“Alright, so we made it to the Eliminator Round. I’m really proud of our whole team for the way we have performed so far in the Chase. We’re excited to go to Martinsville. We feel like that’s a track that we can run well at. Jimmy Fennig is very good there setting up the cars and he’s really good with strategy. We feel like our short track program has been our strong point recently, so both Martinsville and Phoenix are races we are looking forward to in this Chase. We’ll be running the Ford EcoBoost Fusion. I think Martinsville is going to be a really tough race. I think that there are a lot of guys with nothing to lose and I think we just have to go there and do what we’ve been doing and that’s give our best performance, not make any mistakes and just keep this going. We’re having fun. I’m glad to be a part of this”
While none of the three RFR drivers have won at Martinsville, none have struggled as much as Stenhouse Jr. who has an average finish of 32nd.
“I’ve really struggled at Martinsville. Martinsville is a tough paper-clip shaped track. We had a good run going in the spring but ended up having a mechanical issue that sent our Ford to the garage. Track position is crucial at Martinsville so if we can stay up front and out of trouble, we should be able to leave Martinsville with a solid finish.”
