She’s been laid up with hyperemesis gravidarum (acute morning sickness) for the past few months, but pregnant Kate Middleton put on a brave face as she welcomed President of Singapore Tony Tan Keng Yam with her husband Prince William today (October 21) in London.
The Duchess of Cambridge definitely wasn’t her usual chipper self, however it was impressive that she was able to attend the event, held at Buckingham Palace.
Kate opted for a subtle-yet-stylish grey Alexander McQueen coat dress with a Jane Taylor hat as she accompanied the Duke of Cambridge to welcome President Tan and his wife Mary at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington on behalf of the Queen before moving to the Palace for the official state visit ceremony.
Until this week, Middleton has been spending time with her mother Carole at the family estate rather than at her home at the palace. An insider told press, “Kate is feeling so lousy that she just wanted to be with her family and out of public view. She is extremely close to Carole, who is very much a hands-on grandmother. Between her and their nanny, Maria, Kate has all the help she needs with George while she is feeling so sick. And Bucklebury is somewhere she can just relax and be herself.”
